Azores Central Group under yellow alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms
The IPMA has issued a yellow warning for the Central Group of the Azores (Faial, Pico, São Jorge, Terceira, and Graciosa) for heavy rain and thunderstorms, in effect from 01:00 to 10:00 on Monday, October 12, 2026 (Lisbon time). The Western Group of the Azores will also be under a yellow alert for rain and thunderstorms on Monday from 16:00 to 21:00 (Lisbon time).
Why it mattersIf you are in the Azores, expect potential disruption to travel and outdoor activities during these periods and take appropriate precautions for heavy weather.
