Association warns about changes to generic drug prices

A new association representing generic drug users is calling for a broad debate on drug pricing policies, following proposals from the industry to increase prices of off-patent medicines by at least 5% in 2027 to address sustainability and supply issues. The association argues that any price changes must be accompanied by measures to boost market competition, increase the availability of generics and biosimilars, and ensure supply stability to prevent pharmacy stockouts.
