Workers earning €970 in Portugal could be exempt from income tax in 2027
The proposed 2027 State Budget raises the minimum subsistence threshold to match the proposed €970 monthly minimum wage, exempting earners at that level from IRS. All nine tax brackets and their income limits would also increase by 3.88 percent.
Why it mattersIf the proposed State Budget passes as written, workers earning up to €970 a month will be exempt from income tax next year, and the income thresholds for all tax brackets will rise by 3.88%.
