Wildfires: around 60 municipalities at maximum risk
IPMA has placed approximately 60 municipalities in the North, Centre, and Algarve regions at maximum wildfire risk for today, Sunday, September 20. Additionally, yellow warnings for heat are in effect for 11 mainland districts, lasting until Monday, September 21, for Lisbon and Setúbal, and until Tuesday, September 22, for others, with temperatures expected to reach 37°C in Santarém.
Why it mattersIf you are in or traveling through the affected areas, you must exercise extreme caution as wildfire risk is at its maximum; avoid any activity that could spark a fire and follow all instructions from the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC).
