Users spent more than 650 million euros on medicines between January and August
Between January and August 2026, out-of-pocket spending by SNS patients on medicines rose 2.4% compared to the same period in 2025, reaching over 650 million euros. The average cost per medicine pack for users was 4.71 euros, while the SNS's share of costs reached over 1.338 billion euros, an increase of 98.1 million euros year-on-year.
