Union says diagnostic technicians' strike at Amadora-Sintra had 90% adherence

The National Union of Health Higher Technicians (STSS) held a 24-hour strike this Wednesday at the Amadora-Sintra Local Health Unit (ULS) to protest against the failure to apply a collective bargaining agreement. While emergency services and legally mandated minimums were maintained, the strike caused disruptions to routine examinations, clinical analyses, imaging, and therapy appointments.

Minimum services decreed for flights to Azores and Madeira during public sector strike

The government has set minimum services for inter-island flights in the Azores, as well as flights between the autonomous regions and the mainland, for the public administration strike on Friday, October 2. Essential flights (military, state, and critical) are guaranteed, along with specific connections between Funchal, Porto Santo, Ponta Delgada, Horta, Corvo, Santa Maria, Pico, Terceira, Graciosa, and São Jorge. SATA has contingency plan to minimize public administration strike

SATA is offering passengers with flights operated by SATA Air Açores the option to reschedule their travel dates without penalties or fare differences for flights between September 29 and October 11, subject to availability. This measure is in response to the public administration strike scheduled for October 2, with the airline also considering the use of wet-lease (ACMI) aircraft to ensure connectivity.
