Traffic banned for heavy vehicles for 15 days at the Monfortinho border, Idanha-a-Nova
Heavy goods vehicles are prohibited from using the EX-108 road leading to the Monfortinho border crossing with Spain, between 07:00 and 19:00 daily, for 15 days starting today, Thursday, August 27, 2026. This measure is due to roadworks being carried out by Spanish authorities near the Erges River bridge and impacts traffic on the national roads EN239 and EN240.
Why it mattersIf you are a professional driver or logistics operator moving heavy goods between Portugal and Spain through the Monfortinho border, you must plan an alternative route between 07:00 and 19:00 for the next 15 days.
