Thirty municipalities at maximum wildfire risk
The IPMA weather institute has placed 30 municipalities across the districts of Bragança, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Santarém, Portalegre, and Faro at maximum risk of rural fire today, September 8. Additionally, over 50 other municipalities across 12 mainland districts are at very high risk, with high risk levels expected to persist in some regions through Sunday, September 13.
Why it mattersIf you are in or traveling through one of the 30 municipalities currently at maximum risk, avoid any activities that could spark a fire and follow all local civil protection instructions.
