Temperatures reach 42 degrees in the coming days, leaving 11 districts under weather warning. Dust from North Africa is returning

The IPMA has issued yellow warnings for high temperatures in 11 mainland districts, valid from 10:00 on Thursday, 2026-09-03, until 19:00 on Friday, 2026-09-04. Additionally, 30 municipalities face a very high risk of rural fire today, with the risk expected to increase in the North, Centre, Alentejo, and Algarve regions on Thursday.

Why it mattersIf you are in one of the 11 affected districts, expect extreme heat up to 42°C and take precautions; if you are in areas with high fire risk, be aware of strict safety rules regarding fire usage.
