Teachers file complaint with Ombudsman over pension cuts
The SIPE teachers' union has complained to the Ombudsman regarding the Caixa Geral de Aposentações (CGA) correcting nearly 3,000 pensions, including for teachers, issued between May and August 2026. The CGA identified a calculation error that set these pensions above legal limits, resulting in a monthly reduction of approximately 93.31 euros gross and a demand for the repayment of previously 'overpaid' amounts.
