Talgo proposes a "much improved" Avril to CP and hints at Iberian gauge certification

The Spanish manufacturer Talgo is offering an upgraded version of its Avril high-speed train to the Portuguese rail operator Comboios de Portugal (CP). The offer highlights Talgo's current status as the only manufacturer with trains certified for 360 km/h on the Iberian rail gauge, a key technical requirement for future high-speed projects in Portugal.

Airport delays in summer reached 10.8 million minutes and cost one billion euros

European airlines reported 10.8 million minutes of delays this summer, costing approximately one billion euros. The airline association A4E highlighted that insufficient airspace and airport capacity, along with operational challenges from the new EU Entry/Exit System (EES) causing waits of up to 5.5 hours, are the primary contributors to these delays. While airline ticket prices were 1% lower in the first half of the year, industry leaders warned that high fuel costs and capacity constraints are creating an unsustainable financial and operational challenge for next year.
