State to cover 15% of obesity medications for patients under medical follow-up

The state will subsidize obesity medications at 15% for patients enrolled in specific hospital follow-up plans, under an ordinance published on Thursday, 22 October 2026, and taking effect in February 2027. The subsidy lasts for 12 months from the first dispensing and applies to patients treated at hospital non-surgical care units within a multidisciplinary obesity team at their local health unit (ULS), provided the drugs are prescribed by endocrinologists, internal medicine physicians, or pediatricians.
