State Budget 2027: Minister of Education hearing at Parliament

The Minister of Education announced that Mathematics will become a mandatory subject for all secondary students (10th to 12th grade) starting in the 2028/29 school year, with public consultation opening in December 2026. Additionally, a new organizational model for the first six years of schooling (1st and 2nd cycles) will be piloted in select schools during the 2027/2028 academic year, and a new digital dashboard to track students without classes will be unveiled in December 2026.
