Social Security warns of fraudulent messages

The Social Security Institute warns of a phishing campaign targeting beneficiaries via SMS. These messages claim that access to the beneficiary portal and social benefits has been suspended, providing a link to "rectify" the situation that is designed to steal login credentials or install malware.

Why it mattersIf you receive an SMS claiming your benefits are suspended, do not click any links; Social Security will never ask you to resolve account issues through links in text messages.
