RSI and pensions to be officially converted into the Unified Social Benefit (PSU)

Beneficiaries of the Social Insertion Income (RSI) and various non-contributory pensions (old-age, invalidity) will be automatically transitioned to the new Unified Social Benefit (PSU). The law takes effect on Friday, August 14, 2026, but the transition becomes effective on December 31, 2026. The PSU is set at 50% of the social support index (IAS), currently 268.6 euros, with eligibility based on household income and, for those of working age, requirements to be registered for employment and available for work or social solidarity activities.
