Public Administration: general career review to move forward

The government and unions have reached an agreement to proceed with the review of general career paths for public servants, scheduled to begin in December. The latest round of negotiations resulted in no changes to salary scales.

Brazilian companies seek to expand franchises in Portugal

Miranda Sarmento says he finds it difficult to associate a 2,300 euro 'moderate rent' with price increases

The Finance Minister defended a new tax policy that reduces the IRS tax rate from 25% to 10% for landlords charging up to 2,300 euros per month. He argued that this creates an economic incentive for landlords currently charging between 2,300 and 2,600 euros to lower their rents to the 2,300 threshold to benefit from the tax cut, claiming it will not cause landlords charging less than 2,300 euros to raise their prices due to market supply and demand constraints.
