Porto PS councilman Manuel Pizarro publicly criticized the police intervention against housing protesters at Praça D. João I, calling the force used 'excessive' and 'uncontrolled' and demanding an investigation by the Internal Administration Inspectorate-General. The police action occurred at 3:00 on Friday morning following the demonstrators' decision to re-establish a tent camp, resulting in 39 reported injuries, two of them serious.
