Portugal closes doors once and for all to immigration without a prior visa
The Portuguese government has eliminated the final legal channels that allowed individuals to enter as tourists and subsequently regularize their status within the country, including regularization through professional courses and having a minor child enrolled in school. These measures follow the earlier abolition of 'manifestations of interest' and the CPLP residency title regularization process, effectively requiring all future immigrants to secure a work contract or visa through a consulate prior to arrival.
