Portugal archipelago opens scholarship applications

The Azorean government has opened applications for two higher education support programs for the 2026/2027 academic year. The PABEEES program offers 450 scholarships of 2,750 euros each for students in the first three family allowance income brackets who have resided in the Azores for at least three years, while the PAPPEES program offers tuition subsidies for eligible students. Applications must be submitted via the government's online portal by 23:59 on 31 October 2026.

Why it matters

If you are a student residing in the Azores and meet the income and residency requirements, you can apply for financial support for your 2026/2027 studies until 31 October 2026.
