Pension repayments: Minister says there is legal basis
The Caixa Geral de Aposentações (CGA) is correcting 2,937 pensions granted between May and August 2026 due to a calculation error, which resulted in payments being set higher than the legal limit. Affected pensioners will see an average reduction of 93.31 euros gross per month in their future payments and will be required to return the excess amounts already received through various repayment methods.
