Over a thousand firefighters battle four fires in the North region

As of 08:00 on Wednesday, four major wildfires remain active in Northern Portugal, with the largest operations concentrated in Torre de Moncorvo, Arouca, and Santo Tirso. While conditions improved overnight due to higher humidity and lower temperatures, authorities are deploying aerial support and remain cautious about increasing wind speeds throughout the day.
