Over 20,000 teachers placed in schools one month before the school year begins
The government has finalized placements for 20,404 teachers across Portugal. Teachers must accept their placements on the AGSE electronic platform between August 17 and August 18, 2026, with their official presentation at schools scheduled for September 1, 2026.
Why it mattersIf you are a teacher placed in this round, you must complete the mandatory acceptance of your position on the AGSE portal by August 18; if you have children in the school system, this confirms that the vast majority of teaching positions are filled in preparation for the start of classes on September 1.
