Nearly 1,250 personnel fighting fires in Torre de Moncorvo, Arouca, and Santo Tirso
As of 15:30 on Wednesday, August 19, over 1,200 emergency personnel were battling active wildfires in four municipalities: Arouca, Torre de Moncorvo, Santo Tirso, and Montalegre. The largest operation is in Arouca, where 534 personnel are deployed, and several villages have been evacuated as a precaution.
