National User Registry: Failure to update may lead to interruption of subsidized medication
The government is currently updating the National User Registry (RNU), a process that may require patients to visit their local health center in person to validate their information. The Portuguese Society of Diabetology (SPD) warns that these administrative hurdles can block access to subsidized essential medicines and medical devices, particularly for patients with diabetes.
Why it mattersIf you are a patient with a chronic condition like diabetes, your access to subsidized medication and devices may be currently blocked by administrative errors in the RNU; check with your local health center or your doctor to ensure your registration is up to date to avoid losing your subsidies.
