The obstetrics and gynecology emergency department at the Hospital Dr. José Maria Grande in Portalegre is closed from Sunday, August 17, until Tuesday, August 19, due to a shortage of medical staff. The local health authority (ULS) advises pregnant women to call the SNS 24 line (808 24 24 24, option 'SNS Grávida') for guidance before heading to any emergency service.
