More than 80 municipalities across nine districts at maximum wildfire risk
Over 80 municipalities in the districts of Bragança, Viseu, Guarda, Coimbra, Leiria, Castelo Branco, Santarém, Portalegre, and Faro are at maximum wildfire risk today. IPMA also issued yellow warnings for heat across most mainland districts, with various expiration times through Thursday, and expects wildfire risk to remain very high in several regions until Sunday, September 27.
Why it mattersIf you are in or traveling through the listed districts, be aware of the high wildfire risk and the extreme heat; avoid activities that could spark a fire and follow local civil protection instructions closely.
