More 'fake accident' scams reported: value already nearly surpasses 2025 total

The GNR reports that 'fake accident' scams have caused 72,540 euros in losses in the first half of 2026, nearing the 77,480-euro total for all of 2025. There were 30 registered complaints between January and June, a 15.4% increase, with the Faro district reporting the highest incidence.
