Melgaço introduces new 30-euro education voucher

The municipality of Melgaço has created a 30-euro education voucher for students from preschool to 12th grade, as part of a new unified social support regulation. To be eligible, households must have resided in the municipality for at least two years and must not be beneficiaries of the national School Social Action (Ação Social Escolar) support (specifically the 1st and 2nd tiers). The voucher is for reimbursement of school-related expenses, including sports gear, clothing, footwear, and stationery, and must be spent at local businesses.
