It is now possible to schedule appointments with Social Security via WhatsApp

Social Security has introduced WhatsApp as a new digital contact channel for scheduling appointments and requesting official declarations. Users must first enable the service through the 'Segurança Social Direta' portal or mobile app in the 'contactos e canais de atendimento' section, after which the channel becomes available as a standard WhatsApp contact.

Porto Metro starts tests on the Pink Line

The new Pink Line (G) in Porto has begun dynamic testing of its full three-kilometre route between Casa da Música and São Bento. These initial 'clearance' tests, intended to ensure vehicle compatibility with the tunnel infrastructure, are scheduled to continue until the end of next week, October 16, 2026. Commercial passenger service is expected to begin by the end of the first quarter of 2027.
