IRN has cleared 26,000 pending files since June, but union reports worsening situation

The Institute of Registries and Notary (IRN) cleared over 26,000 pending files between June and mid-August, primarily in vehicle, property, and commercial registrations. For nationality and equality status applications, 1,240 final decisions were issued, and processing timelines for Brazilian Equality Status applications have improved by approximately four months. However, the workers' union (STRN) reports an overall increase in backlogs across registry offices, noting a rise from 220 to 237 offices with pending delays between May and June.
