INEM. Minister tries to stop internal war and avoid strike

The Minister of Health has summoned the INEM management and the STEPH union to a meeting this Wednesday, August 27, 2026, to address internal conflicts and prevent a planned strike by emergency technicians. The union has scheduled strikes for September 14 and September 28, 2026, in protest against proposed reforms, including the substitution of life-support ambulances and the reallocation of medical emergency vehicles.

Why it mattersIf the union does not reach an agreement with the Ministry and INEM, emergency medical response services could be disrupted on September 14 and 28, 2026.
