IMT delays leave imported cars waiting months for registration
The Portuguese Automobile Trade Association (APDCA) reports that procedures at the IMT for the Vehicle Certificate Request (PCV) can take three to four months to complete, followed by further delays in vehicle property registration. These administrative backlogs can result in taxpayers missing the statutory 60-day window for vehicle registration, creating potential risks regarding the timely payment of the Circulation Tax (IUC).
