Higher education scholarship applications begin this Friday. Learn what has changed
Applications for 2026/27 higher education scholarships open on August 14. Students can now apply before completing registration; those who register after October 2 can still apply until May 31, but will receive a pro-rated amount. The new model increases the average annual scholarship to 2,660 euros by factoring in the cost of living in the student's study location alongside household income.
Why it mattersIf you are starting higher education this year, applying now allows you to secure financial support earlier; students who wait until after October 2 receive less funding, as the award is calculated proportionally from the month following the application.
