High-speed rail line expropriations affecting land parcels in Portugal
The government has issued an urgent order for the expropriation of 1,076 land parcels to facilitate the construction of the Porto–Oiã high-speed rail section. The affected land is located in the municipalities of Oliveira do Bairro, Aveiro, and Albergaria-a-Velha. Costs for the expropriations will be covered by the concessionaire, AVAN Norte.
Why it mattersIf you own land or property in the specified parishes of Oliveira do Bairro, Aveiro, or Albergaria-a-Velha, your land may be subject to urgent expropriation for the rail project.
