Helmet use for e-scooter and e-bike riders approved in principle

The Assembly of the Republic approved a PSD bill in principle that makes helmets mandatory for riders of e-bikes, e-scooters, and similar motorized personal transport devices. The proposal also requires the use of reflective clothing or equipment from dusk until dawn, or whenever visibility is poor. The bill now proceeds to committee for detailed review; if finalized, fines for non-compliance range from 30 to 300 euros.
