Health reform plans merger of four agencies

The government is finalizing a structural reform of the health ministry that intends to merge the SNS Executive Directorate (DE-SNS) and the Central Administration of the Health System (ACSS) into a single agency, and combine the Directorate-General of Health (DGS) with the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge (INSA). The goal is to eliminate overlapping competencies, administrative inefficiencies, and redundant departments.
