Health Ministry aims to assign family doctors to 462,000 more users

The State Budget proposal for 2027 sets a target to increase the number of users with an assigned family doctor by 5%, adding 462,000 people to the current 9.24 million. The plans also include introducing 60 new medicines to the SNS, cutting INEM emergency response times by 5%, adding 3,000 new places to the continuous care network, and advancing work on the Eastern Lisbon and Algarve hospitals, despite a 1.5% overall cut in health sector funding to 17.86 billion euros.
