Government meets social partners with minimum wage and Labour Compensation Fund on the agenda

The government is meeting with unions and employer representatives today, 21 October 2026, to discuss the 2027 minimum wage and the future of the Labour Compensation Fund (FCT). While unions are advocating for an increase above the previously agreed 970 euros for 2027, the government maintains that the 970-euro target remains firm, as does the employer association's opposition to renegotiating current agreements.
