Gastroenteritis in the Azores 'above expected' but norovirus falling on three islands

The Regional Health Authority of the Azores reported an above-average number of acute gastroenteritis cases as of Wednesday, August 26. Norovirus has been confirmed on São Miguel and Faial, while cases are trending downwards on Faial, Flores, and Terceira; patients are advised to rest at home and wait 48 hours after symptoms subside before returning to work.
