Free medical transport in Algarve
The municipality of Vila Real de Santo António offers a free transport service for vulnerable residents to reach medical appointments, exams, and treatments at public health facilities. To use the service, you must hold a valid SNS card or a medical prescription and book your trip at least three business days in advance via the Municipal Health Office. The service is not equipped for wheelchair users or patients requiring constant medical care like oxygen or IV therapy.
