The franchising sector in Portugal reached a turnover of 23 billion euros in 2025, a 3% increase over the previous year, while the number of jobs grew by 60,000 to reach 197,000 employees. The sector saw a net increase of 200 units, with the strongest growth in services, construction, and real estate, and the data will be presented at Expofranchise in Lisbon on October 23 and 24.

National airports handled 7.9 million passengers in August, a 2.0% year-on-year increase, bringing the total for the first eight months of the year to 51.01 million passengers. International traffic accounted for the vast majority of arrivals (81.4%) and departures (82.3%), with Europe remaining the primary origin and destination, led by the UK, Spain, France, Germany, and Italy.
The Treasury and Public Debt Management Agency (IGCP) auctioned 769 million euros in 10-year bonds at a rate of 3.897% and 514 million euros in 26-year bonds at 4.316%. The total placement of 1.283 billion euros fell within the indicative range of 1.25 billion to 1.5 billion euros.
The 6-month Euribor rose to 2.924% (+0.019 points) and the 12-month rate increased to 3.201% (+0.010 points). The 3-month rate decreased to 2.628% (-0.006 points).
