Fourteen mainland districts under yellow weather warning for hot weather until Saturday
IPMA has extended the yellow weather warning for hot weather to 14 districts, remaining in effect from 10:00 on Thursday, September 3, until 19:00 on Saturday, September 5. Additionally, the institute has placed several municipalities at maximum risk of rural fire, with around 90 others at very high risk.
Why it mattersIf you are in one of the 14 districts under the yellow warning (Bragança, Viseu, Évora, Guarda, Faro, Vila Real, Setúbal, Santarém, Lisboa, Leiria, Beja, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, and Portalegre), expect high temperatures that may pose health risks, and if you are near any of the municipalities listed for maximum or very high fire risk, avoid activities that could cause sparks and follow local emergency advice.
