Fenprof accepts graduates in basic education as a resource for the 1st cycle

The teachers' union Fenprof has accepted a government proposal to allow holders of a degree in 'Educação Básica' (Basic Education) to teach in the 1st cycle of primary school as a temporary, exceptional measure due to teacher shortages. The union emphasizes that this degree does not provide professional teaching qualifications and demands that the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MECI) ensures these recruits can obtain the necessary professional training while working.
