Extraordinary pension supplement granted to those receiving up to 1,611.39 euros
The government has finalized the extraordinary pension payment to be made in December, covering retirees with total monthly pensions up to 1,611.39 euros. The benefit, which is tax-free and does not require an application, will be 200 euros for those receiving up to 537.13 euros, 150 euros for those between 537.13 and 1,074.26 euros, and 100 euros for those between 1,074.26 and 1,611.39 euros.
Why it mattersIf you are a pensioner, you will receive this supplement automatically with your December payment without having to apply; it is exempt from IRS withholding and does not affect your eligibility for the Solidarity Supplement for the Elderly (CSI).
