Europe and Portugal take to the streets against the cost of living with reinforced security
Protests against the cost of living, low wages, and the housing crisis are taking place today, Saturday 31 October 2026, in cities across Europe. In Portugal, demonstrations are scheduled for this afternoon from 16:00 in Lisbon (starting at Largo Luís de Camões and ending at Rossio) and Porto (starting at Batalha at 16:00), alongside assemblies and actions in Viana do Castelo, Braga, Faro, Beja, and on Sunday 1 November in Funchal.
