Electric intercity buses to be introduced in Portugal

Eleven new electric buses are set to enter service in the Leiria region by the end of 2026, pending the completion of a charging station in the Cova das Faias Industrial Zone. The fleet, funded in part by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), will be used to reinforce high-demand routes and add 300,000 kilometres of annual service in the municipalities of Leiria, Pombal, and Porto de Mós.
