Dine village in Vinhais evacuated as a 'precaution' due to wildfire

The village of Dine, in the municipality of Vinhais, was evacuated this Saturday, August 15, 2026, due to an active wildfire. Residents were relocated to the nearby village of Mofreita, and while there is no immediate threat to homes, the fire remains active with two fronts due to strong winds.

Why it mattersIf you are in the vicinity of Vinhais or the Montesinho Natural Park, stay alert to local emergency instructions, avoid the area around Dine and Mofreita, and do not travel near the fire zone.
