Coimbra plans to cut urban bus lines from 112 to 52, focusing on higher frequencies and transfers

The restructuring proposal for Coimbra's municipal bus network (SMTUC) reduces the number of lines from 112 to 52, shortens average route lengths from 19 to 12 kilometres, and introduces neighborhood, urban, circular, and radial lines. Public presentation sessions are underway to discuss the draft, which aims for greater frequency, simpler routes, and integration with other operators like the metrobus and intermunicipal transport.
