Civil Protection appeals for preventive measures due to aggravated wildfire risk

The National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) has warned of an increased wildfire risk due to hot, dry weather, with the IPMA issuing orange and yellow heat warnings until 18:00 on Tuesday, August 18. During these periods of elevated risk, the use of fire in rural areas—including for cooking or agricultural machinery—is prohibited, and the DGS advises precautions against heat, such as maintaining hydration and avoiding sun exposure.
