CGA to reduce already-awarded pensions: Minister confirms “lapse” and states pensioners will have to return the money
The Caixa Geral de Aposentações (CGA) made a technical error resulting in overpayments to nearly 3,000 retirees, who will now see their monthly pensions decrease by an average of 93 euros gross. The Minister of Labour confirmed the error and stated that the funds already paid out must be returned. Affected individuals have ten days to contest the decision.
